Getting There

Over the 13 years that we've been open, we have tested every mode of transport, and have had guests travel every route to get here. In short, we've seen it all. We have enough experience to know that our entire business model rests on the smooth transition of the transport from your home to our island and back again. With this in mind we contract only the best logistics carriers and the best mainland guides. Our mission is to make the entire transition from your world to our's as seamless as possible.

We make your life and holiday much easier by guiding and transporting you through the various adventures that you will experience along the way. In order to get to our beautiful island in the middle of nowhere, deep in the Indian Ocean, here's what you can expect:

International flights

You organize your own, but we have an recommended agent near you to take care of your flights and travel insurance. Click on the flights button at left for more info.

Taxis

Once you get off the plane and through customs and immigration, we take care of you all the way. You will be met by a WavePark representative at the airport who will help you get to your pre-booked hotel, or direct to your marine transport, the next step to get to our tropical island resort. Transfers from the airport to hotel and back again are included in your price, as is the guide.

Inter-island Speedboats

Your daily price includes transport to and from the Mentawai Islands.  In 2011 we will be utilizing the services of KM Koraibi, Mentawai Charter Boats.

KM Koraibi

Built in 2011, Koraibi was designed specifically for transporting guests, luggage and cargo from Padang - Mentawai. 15m (49ft.) long and 3.2m wide, Koraibi has the following facilities:

  • Seating for 20 guests in air-conditioned cabin.
  • Alternatively 8 berths for sleeping.
  • WC/Shower
  • Galley with twin electric stove and refrigerator.
  • 2 x TV/DVD with surround sound stereo.
  • 25 knots cruising and 33 knots top speed.
  • GPS, Depth Sounder, radar, VHF, satellite telephone, fishing equipment, underwater lights and a full array of safety and recreational gear.
